The Cochran Family

We're Michael and Sarah Cochran, first-generation ranchers with a passion for helping families experience the possibilities of Wagyu cattle.

SDG Ranch began with a dream to build something meaningful together as a family. Today, from our 40-acre farm in southwest Missouri, we're raising registered fullblood Wagyu while helping producers improve their herds through carefully planned genetics, embryos, semen, and embryo transfer.

Our name, SDG, stands for Soli Deo Gloria—"To God Alone Be the Glory." Our faith shapes how we do business, how we treat people, and how we strive to steward the opportunities God has given us.

Sarah earned her master's degree in reproductive physiology from South Dakota State University before completing postgraduate research in reproductive biology at the University of Florida. That background, combined with years of hands-on experience in embryo transfer and reproductive technologies, has allowed us to build our own herd while helping others build theirs.

We are also the proud parents of five wonderful children—Nathanael, Abigail, Noelle, Annie, and Faith. As a homeschooling family, we spend much of our time working side by side. Whether we're checking cattle, transferring embryos, caring for our Golden Retrievers, or simply sharing a meal around the table, we believe some of life's greatest lessons are learned by working together.

When we're not on the farm, you'll most likely find us serving alongside our church family, enjoying the outdoors, or discovering something new together. We believe ranching isn't just about raising exceptional cattle—it's about building relationships, serving others well, and leaving the land and the people we encounter a little better than we found them.
